External Reports

Displays the Reports Selector dialog which list a set of predefined reports the user can select to generate/view.

This is a common reporting tool which is available from the Tools group in the following OpenPlant applications:

OpenPlant Modeler
OpenPlant PID
OpenPlant Support Engineering

The Reports Selector dialog lists the available reports in the active model. Expand the nodes and click on a report to display it in the dashboard.

Note: The Reports Selector simply lists the predefined reports for the application. Reports can be created or edited using the Report Designer in the OpenPlant Project Administrator.

Setting	Description
Run Report	Click on a report type and select this option to generate the report. The reporting function runs a query which search for all components which match the report criteria. The report is opened in a Report Viewer. Note: You can also double-click on a report type to run the report.
Report Options	This option displays the Report Options dialog where you can define criteria to include in the selected report.
Refresh	Refreshes the report tree with any changes made.

Project Wide Reports

When working in a project connected to Plantsight, the Project Wide Reports icon is added to the toolbar which, when turned on, will run reports on all of the project data stored in PlantSight instead of the active drawing.

When this option is enabled, the report display a cloud in the icon to indicate the reports will be generated using data stored in PlantSight.

Note: If a class isn't available on the PlantSight server, or there is no data there, then the report will return no results the same as if were reporting on an empty model.
